Talent Recruitment

The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) actively recruits global professionals to contribute to Taiwan’s industrial development and ITRI’s sustainable operations. Each year, talent recruitment and development goals are set for each lab and center to ensure both the quality and quantity of top talent. Through these efforts, ITRI continues to pioneer on the frontier of innovation, drive industrial advancement, and generate comprehensive economic value, while working hand in hand with industry partners to align with national policies and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, to broaden talent sources, ITRI promotes flexible remote work arrangements, deepens industry–academia research collaboration, and encourages cross-disciplinary cooperation, thereby attracting outstanding professionals from diverse backgrounds to join ITRI.

Employer Branding

ITRI strengthens its employer brand by leveraging professional networking platforms (e.g., LinkedIn) to attract talent from diverse industries. In 2024, ITRI launched the second season of its cross
disciplinary initiative ITRI Career Podcast, centered on diversity and inclusion. Through podcasts and feature articles, the initiative enhanced stakeholders’ understanding of ITRI, while internally, employee ambassadorship promoted organizational identity and pride. The campaign achieved a total of 1.71 million views, representing a 2.1-fold increase compared with 810,000 views in the first season. To further measure
brand impact, two surveys—Career Interests and Feedback on the ITRI Career Podcast—were conducted, yielding 2,682 valid responses. Results showed that 98% of respondents reported a more favorable perception of ITRI’s brand.

New Employees

In 2024, ITRI recruited 792 permanent employees through open selection processes, achieving a new hire rate of 12.28%. Among these, female employees accounted for 42.55%, marking a steady year-on-year increase over the past three years. The one-year retention rate of new hires reached 87%. To address the gap between academic training and industry needs, ITRI actively engages student interns, offering young talent opportunities to explore technology applications and gain industry insights. Outstanding interns are also granted priority hiring opportunities, creating a win-win outcome that supports youth employment while advancing ITRI’s innovation and R&D objectives.
