Identifying Stakeholders

ITRI values and listens to the feedback of all stakeholders. Through discussions and reviews by members of the ITRI Sustainability Committee, the Office of ITRI Sustainability, and various task forces, ITRI has identified internal and external groups or individuals who impact or are impacted by ITRI's operational activities. Following the 5 principles of the AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard (SES) - dependency, responsibility, influence, tension/attention, and diverse perspectives - ITRI conducted a stakeholder identification survey by distributing 40 questionnaires to key sustainability management levels. After statistical scoring and ranking, seven main categories of stakeholders were identified (in order of weight): government agencies/competent authorities, employees, businesses/clients, public associations/alliances, academic and research partners, suppliers, and society/communities. The subsequent analysis of material topics will also differentiate stakeholders based on their weighted scores.

Stakeholders Engagement

ITRI places great importance on listening to the voices of all stakeholders. Through both regular and ad hoc communication channels, the Institute seeks to understand the actual and potential impacts of its operations on various stakeholder groups, using these insights as the basis for planning preventive and mitigation actions. In the future, ITRI will continue to conduct in-person interviews, regularly collect and consolidate stakeholder feedback, and carry out stakeholder identification surveys as needed. These efforts aim to ensure comprehensive stakeholder inclusion and foster diverse, two-way communication channels, thereby advancing ITRI’s commitment to sustainable industrial value creation.
