ITRI has developed the ITRI 2035 Technology Strategy & Roadmap to guide its R&D efforts, aiming to drive industrial development, create economic value, and enhance social welfare through technological innovation. This Technology Strategy & Roadmap is regularly updated to address global trends such as digital technology and the economy changing industrial structures and lifestyles, the impact of demographic changes on productivity and elderly care, the impact of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 on society and industry, and how industrial and social resilience will become key to future national and economic development. It focuses on four key areas: Smart Living, Quality Health, Sustainable Environment, and Resilient Society, supported by Intelligentization Enabling Technologies. ITRI hopes to continue to use technology to drive industrial transformation, improve the quality of life of the general Taiwanese population, and strike a balance between sustainable development and environmental protection. The Technology Strategy & Roadmap serves as the research and development compass for the Institute, guiding the direction of R&D efforts. To establish a long-term mechanism, relevant operational guidelines have been formulated to clarify the scope of the 2035 Technology Strategy & Roadmap as well as the roles and responsibilities of each lab and center. This lays a solid foundation for the Institute, ensuring the stable development of the Technology Strategy & Roadmap. Through comprehensive strategic planning and actions aligned with the ten goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Institute promotes the joint advancement of industry and society.
