To enhance the sustainability of its own operations and those of Taiwan's industries, ITRI—upon approval by its ITRI Sustainability Steering Committee—has established the ITRI Sustainability Strategy & Roadmap (see figure below). This roadmap outlines six key focus areas: Integrity Governance, Technological R&D, Industrial Development, Social Benefits (Note 1), Well-being Workplace, and Green Campus, encompassing the three ESG dimensions of environment, society, and governance. In addition, ITRI has established short-, medium-, and long-term quantifiable sustainability performance targets for each of these 6 key areas. Progress toward these targets is reviewed quarterly by the ITRI Sustainability Committee (Note 2). Through these efforts, ITRI continuously contributes to Taiwan’s sustainable development journey while responding to global sustainability initiatives.
Notes:
- The original designation of ''Social Public Welfare'' was subsequently renamed to ''Social Benefits.'' Considering the Institute’s organizational characteristics, in addition to leveraging its research and development capabilities to contribute to public welfare, it can also utilize its legal entity’s convening function to extend such initiatives to local industries and communities, and to collaborate with government bodies to achieve broader social benefits. Following deliberation among senior management, it was formally resolved to adopt the current name.
- ITRI’s Sustainability Strategy & Roadmap aims to pursue balanced progress across all indicators, ensuring that secondary issues are not neglected. ITRI aims to equally prioritize environmental and governance plans, talent development, human rights management, and support for vulnerable social groups.
